Jackie's Story
Life
I have lived in Illinois since 1983 when my husband, Clif, went to work for Fermilab. After 2 1/2 years as an administrative secretary to a vice president at Lewis University, I went back to the local school district (where I previously worked for 10 years). I am now the adminstrative assistant to the deputy superintendent. It is very busy, but I really like it. Our daughter, who is 21, will start an LPN program in January. I love to do genealogy research, gardening, decorating, and a variety of sewing and crafts. I belong to a quilt club and a bunco group. My daughter was in 4H for 11 years and I help with the 4H club. No longer working with the 4H club, but still help with the county fair each summer. My husband is now retired and just had shoulder surgery. I am still admin for the school district and also work part-time at Crate&Barrel as a customer service associate to bridge the income gap. Our daughter, Rachel, is still going to school part-time while she works several jobs to pay her way (and for her new car!). Rachel and I have a trip to Disney World planned for September. That is my favorite vacation - I am really just about 12 years old at heart!
