Jacqueline's Story
Life
I attended college for five years with five different majors (but not a degree to my name): Administration of Justice, Education, Missions, Christian Education, and Nursing. I thought this was a great waste of time until I married, had a family, and homeschooled my own children. I found that each of my declared majors helped prepare me for my favorite job - wife and mom! My only regret is that I didn't finish my nursing degree. It is a lesson to my children to not get impatient to "start your life" - GET YOUR EDUCATION FIRST!
After college I worked a variety of jobs including respiratory therapist and pediatric office assistant.
I lived in Japan for 16 months and worked as our mission board secretary and part-time conversational English teacher. What a beautiful country, and what wonderful people.
In 1983, I attended a church singles retreat at Asilomar Conference Center on the Monterey Penninsula. What a beautiful and romantic place to meed the most wonderful (and cutest) man in the world! My wonderful man is Neil Bauman (Ripon), and we married in 1984.
We have four great children: Elizabeth Anne (1986), Suzanne Nicole...Expand for more
(1987), John Weston (1992), and James Victor (1995). The girls are in college. Elizabeth is a junior in a four-year nursing program, and Suzanne is a freshman early childhood education major. We homeschooled all the children for all grade levels, and are now in the last years of our homeschooling career since James is a seventh grader this year.
The boys are ardent fans of airsoft and spend a good deal of time fighting great battles in orchards and down at the river. They are also involved in Babe Ruth Baseball and city league soccer.
We are very active in our local church. Neil is one of our worship leaders and I sing on the praise team with him. When the girls are home from college they join us on the praise team and use their incredibly beautiful voices for the Glory of God.
I work part-time for my local Home Depot as the Garden plant buyer for my store. I love my job! My management team has been so gracious to allow me to schedule my work around homeschooling and sports.
