Raised on a dairy farm in Ledyard NY. Graduated from King Ferry Central School. Last official class to do so before it merged with 2 other schools and became Southern Cayuga Central School.
Found a husband while attending University of Buffalo in Buffalo, NY.
After graduating from college, became an Air Force wife (husband Capt. Robin Smith, KC135 aircraft maintenance) and was stationed at Chanute AFB in Illinois for his additional training 1969 and then assigned to Grissom AFB in Indiana 1969 to 1972 for the duration of his service time- got out when Thailand was to become next assignment in support of Vietnam War.
Met an airman/sgt (? not sure of rank or name) originally from Michigan or Wisconsin maybe(?) who befriended me. He worked in Maintenance and made sure all appliances and furniture were up to date in my housing unit ...Expand for more
on Randolph St. at Grissom AFB. I will aways appreciate him for his friendship. Meant to keep in touch but never did. Wish I knew who he was, now. Would like to see how he is doing and thank him for his kindness while at Grissom.
Had a son while at Grissom AFB, a few months before leaving the service. He is 42 now and gave me my precious grand daughter.
Worked for NYS Div of Criminal Justice Services ( once son in school). Trained police, prosecutors, judges, court clerks, parole, probation, prison people. Retired from there in 2005.
Live in East Greenbush NY, across the Hudson River from Albany. Husband lives in Saranac Lake NY. I spend time in Union Springs NY caring for parents, or Albany/Rensselaer/East Greenbush NY caring for grandchild, or Spring Hill FL having fun in the sun with my twin sister in the winter.
