Jacqueline's Story
Life
My husband and I just celebrated our 40th anniversary, happy that we have three living children from the four we raised. We miss our oldest daughter so. A congenital heart defect sent her to Heaven when she was only 21.
We are proud of our two sons, who both decided to serve our country before seeking personal careers.... The eldest in Air Force Security (including protecting GHWB, when on duty at Andrews AFB), and the younger graduated at the very top of his class at West Point '90 (one of the top 5, actually) He married a wonderful Northern Italian girl he met when serving with the 82nd Airborne in Vicenza, Italy. We have two grandsons, Niccolo and Tommaso, who are the light of our lives!
But, we are also so proud of our youngest daughter, who decided to make teaching her life. She loved math, and is a born teacher (used to round up all her playmates for "school play", begging her elementary teachers f...Expand for more
or left-over "dittos"!
So, after graduating summa cum laude as a math major, she turned down the acutuarial head-hunters, and was delighted to start as a secondary math teacher. But, after ten years, she has just recently been appointed the teacher of teachers... the Chair of the Math Dept. for a local urban school system.
She is dedicating her life to education, and is married to another true teacher. They are a wonderful couple, and Sister Mary Regina would be proud of both of them.
I miss Sister Mary Regina so much.
She was, and is, the most motivating force in my life, and I pray in thanks to God for her every day. If it were not for her example of love and acceptance, I am not sure I would have survived the 60s. I remembered her every day when doing my best to raise my children, and I am convinced she was looking over my shoulder and helping me to walk that fine line between love and discipline.
