In High school and college I enjoyed both writing and drama courses the best. I got a job which led to a career using both of those talents after moving to Michigan. I had two children and finished my degree at Eastern Michigan University. After my divorce in 1977 I raised the girls and continued my education at the University of Michigan and Eastern Michigan, working on my Masters in Clinical Psychology. I did not complete the program because of family demands, such as custody of my first granddaughter, Crystal, who I helped raise from birth and retained custody of for five years. I lived in the Detroit area when I was first hired for the state of Michigan as a case worker. I was promoted a few times and eventually became a supervisor of Assistance Payments workers. I helped develop an Investigative Interviewing course and trained it in the Detroit area to the offices in Wayne County.
