Jacquelyn's Story
Can you believe we're considered "middle age"! I still remember being that 17-year old who couldn't wait to graduate and start living...now I'm 50-something, retired from the only 2 real jobs that I ever had and I'm working on the 3rd retirement! My first retirement was from the Fedeal Reserve Bank...I thought that I was going to be a stay-at-home mom, another June Cleaver (Leave it to Beaver mom) bake cookies, be a Troup Leader, bond with my girls...what was I thinking! My girls were fast becoming "social butterflies" and told me right off they didn't have time to stay at home with good old Mom, baking cookies or learning how to tie knots, what they needed was their own taxi driver who was at their disposal any...Expand for more
time of the day or night to take them to soccer, cheer, school activities, slumber parties, t-papering, you name it, I did it! After a year of this we all knew it was time for Mom to go back to work. I thought I would return to the work force for 4 to 6 months, just to earn a little extra cash...those few months turned into 18 years. I retired the 2nd time to help my oldest daughter take care of her two little boys (ages 1 & 2). Again, I lasted 12 months as a retiree before realizing that it was time to re-enter the work force. Hence, my 3rd job as an HR Director in Newport Beach...as far as that 17 year-old who couldn't wait to start living, she's living life to it's fullest and loving every minute of it!
