Jacques's Story
Life
While in high school, I had been in the Field Artillery arm of the Militia (or Land Reserves) over at the Halifax Armouries by the Commons. I stayed working there part-time and during summers and breaks, as well as took Business Courses and other jobs and then joined Regular Force Field Artillery in 1983. I took as many courses there as I could and then joined the Air Defence Artillery in 1987. Made Detachment Commander there and got two awards and one goof up (it wasn't in a combat zone, so that was a blessing). Guess I'm ahead by one.
In 1990 I transferred to administrative clerk and spent that time with the air force in Winnipeg. Talk about a fish out of water. At least I taught them how to shoot and how to wear their combat clothes for their base defnce exercises. I never lost that technique. I guess it is like riding a bike.
Got married in 1986 and that didn't work out so we parted ways in 1993. Met a few ladies along the way, but have not met "the one" yet.

rants, and one more stint in the reserves, (but the young kids these days have a different work ethic). Ah heck, maybe I got older. Nah, the young ones want it all without effort.
When I now visit the Farmer's Market each Saturday morning, it is in Edmonton instead of in Halifax. I live quite close, so most of my shopping gets done in a day.
I have run out of fingers and toes on how many different jobs I have had, but I guess I am making sure the statistics are right. We are supposed to have about ten to twenty jobs before we retire.
I like being me and although I even though may be dissatisfied with how things are right now, that does not mean I am unhappy and can not change them for the better down the road. Right now life is tremendous. (Life is still the same).
I do feel bad about Miss Taggart, but I did get to see her when I got back to Dartmouth in 1996. It was like I had never left and was a kid again, because when I walked into her office, she said, "Jacques Thibault how have you been?"
That's it. I hope it was under 4000 words (and I am not counting).
