Jae's Story
Life
I can't believe how many familiar names I came across on this site! Maybe this is a good way to get back in touch with some old friends from school. I'm currently living in Milpitas, CA and working in San Jose, CA and have lived all over the place since my days in Lodi, CA. I don't have anything extraordinary to write on here, but I've had my share of interesting experiences over the years. It would be nice to get back in touch with some old friends and catch up...
School
I spent most of my school years in Lodi, CA. My first school there was Leroy Nichols Elementary School, where I first met the cutest girl in the world (maybe she's on here). After that, I spent two years at Senior Elementary School, where I had about 100 crushes. After developing my hormones there, I moved on to Tokay HS. I spent my 4 years there just letting time fly by and mostly playing basketball with friends. I didn't realize how quick the 4 years would slide by, but it seemed like forever back then...
College
I decided to transfer to Fresno State after spending 3 years at a junior college. It wasn't my first choice, but I thought it was located in a remote enough area to keep me from being distracted so that I can graduate quickly. That didn't work too well, since...Expand for more
it took me another 3 years to earn my BA degree. After switching around my major about 20 times, I finally earned my BA in psychology in 1995. I think college was one of my favorite times of my life, since no one made me go to class and the instructors allowed me to sleep in class...
Workplace
Shortly after I started junior college, I was hired by City of Stockton-Parks & Rec as a counselor for an after-school program. After I took off a few years to attend college in Fresno, I was hired by Rebekah Children's Services (Children's Home) as a residential counselor, immediately after I received my degree. After working there for about 4 years and eventually moving into management, I decided to move on and work for another agency. I started out at Alliance for Community Care (mental health agency) as a Manager for their Youth & Family Services program, and now I'm currently a Manager for several different programs at the agency. I still run the Youth program, but I'm now also running an Adult Outpatient Team, a Day Rehab Team, and a Residential Team for Severely Mentally Ill Adults as well, and it's been a great experience. I have no plans of moving on to another agency yet. With all this work, I seem to have no time for much else... let alone marriage!
