James Jimmy's Story
Life
After graduation from Cushman in 1952 I joined former classmates in Wichita, Kansas where I worked at Beech Aircraft and Coleman Stove Company. I was drafted into the army and sent to Korea where I spent 18 months. I married Shirly Harmon before entering the army. My daughter Debra was born while I was away in the army. In 1957 I entered Arkansas College where I graduated with a BA in Biology in 1960. I attented graduate school in science at the University of New Mexico. dependence county school supervisor. I worked for several years in a national program in developing the economy and manpower training in poor areas of the US. I was the first Director of the Northcentral Education SErvice CEnter at Melbourne, Arkansas. I finished my professional career as a coordinator with the national Migrant Student Records Transfer System with responsibilities nationwide. I am retired living just a few miles from Limedale where I grew up and about seven miles from Cushman where I attended High School. My wife of almost fifty years died in 2003. I have two children, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
