James's Story
Greetings to one and all!
My life has changed quite a bit in the 20+ years since I graduated high school. I've lost both my parents to heart attacks, gotten married, had a son and have worked for the same company now for 14 years. I've also moved out of Roanoke County and now live in Salem.
Looking back, I wouldn't trade any of the ups and downs I've had in my life for anything. I might have treated a few people differently, but over all I have only one regret - that my parents are not around to enjoy their grandson.
My wife, Laurie, and I have been married now for over 6 years and two and a half years ago, the lord blessed us with a son. Trevor is the cutest little guy and being a dad ...Expand for more
is the greatest thing to ever happen to me. Having my little boy call me "Daddy" is what gets me through the tough days.
At my wife's urging, I finally went back to school a couple of years ago and will receive my Associates degree in Information Systems Engineering this fall. I couldn't have done it without her support and help and her willingness to be a single parent on the nights that I had class. I know it has been difficult for her and I really appreciate every thing she does every day.
I'll try to update this more often than I have ion the past. I hope everybody that reads this signs my guest book and leaves me a littl note. I'd like to re-connect with some of the bunch from Byrd.
