James's Story
Okay, life at the Andersen's is finally "busy!" After many years of, oh, that typical "I'm afraid of relationships" stuff, I finally bit the bullet, got myself into a solid relationship with a quality woman and, you guessed it, married Rhonda in '99. But, that's not the busy part.
In '05, we adopted two beautiful children from Guatemala and life has never been the same. David and Christine are the joys of our life and, yes, they keep themselves busy, playing and dreaming up all sorts of fun, imaginable things!
David, our prized third grader, asks question after question, learning this and learning that. What a brain he has! I dare say it's hereditary, but most of my school grades wouldn't prove that.
Our five year old, Christine, has forever been a head turner and is always ready to share a laugh, saying this silly thing or that silly thing, then saying with a great big smile, "I tricked you!" She is such a happy joy!

raise them near their new grandparents, Rhonda's parents, who had also just moved there, but from Oklahoma. They found our town on the internet and we found our town through them. It's really beautiful here, so come on down!
That about covers "life in general", but to brief you otherwise, I'm a self-employed signmaker and Rhonda's a registered nurse. While seemingly good careers, the kids keep each of us working only part-time and leading a modest lifestyle in a modest home. Oh, but this proud daddy wouldn't have it any other way!
After wandering through careers for too many years and after thirteen years of experience in the sign industry, I found my direction and finally went the self-employment route, opening Andersen Signs. The business was first based in the Oak Lawn area, but later moved with the family to southern Illinois.
I'm not allowed to put our phone number in this bio, but if you ever get to southern Illinois and see an Andersen Signs van driving about, give me a hootin' holler!
