james's Story
After school, I attended FIRE FIGHTING School. While I was volunter fire fighter i got married to my first wife. Have 1 son with her. Spent 1.5 yrs. working on a US Navy Base in the Bahamas. Great fishin! After that I got hired by the City of Temple Terrace. While I was working there I took leave for a family reunion up in New York. On my return trip I had seriuos car accident. Fracture & Dislocated my left hip. This ended my fire fighting career.
Eventually I got hired a second time with FL. Dept. of Transportation. I've been with them for 27 yrs. now. I also got remarried to my wife Joyce. We have 2 kids together. We've lived in Plant City for 2...Expand for more
3 yrs. now. I think I've got a pretty interesting job. Job title is District Railroad Administrator. I handle a lot issues with CSX in the Bay area. Engineering for the roadway crossings to upgrading railroad signals. I can't get rid of the first responder mode so at I work I joined the Emerg. Team Leader & I cover the Hills. CO. EOC during emergencies. In 2010 I finally got my hip replaced.
My oldest son is married & has 10 years in the US Army. He's done 4 yrs. in S. Korea, 2 yrs. in Germany, 2 yrs in the sand box (Irag) & 2 yrs. in Louisanna. He has 3 kids. (YES I'm a GRANDPA). His family is getting ready to go back to S. Korea in July of 2012.
