Jason's Story

Life Now on the book of Faces. Left Houston in 85 for the Air Force. Service until 89, then I just stayed here. It's really beautiful here, so why not. Went back to Sugarland a couple of times, both for funerals. Mark Gallant (a huge loss to the planet) and my dad (a huge loss for me). Both were huge inspirations to me, and I don't think I ever told them. Dad had just rented his Ryder truck and was packing it up to move to California, where I had a nice house waiting for him. We still had alot of catching up to do... I was in Technology (specifically networking) from 89 to 2002. Nortel, Netigy (startup of Cisco), Shasta, Nordx, and finally ended my last year in technology with Qwest. It was time. I was burnt out. I wanted to do other stuff and the money was there, so I took some seed money, started teaching Judo and Jujitsu in an afterschool program for kids, and trained heavily for three years. This was cathartic for the soul, but three years later, I wanted to get back in the real world, as became operations manager for a flight school in Livermore, Ca. I have two wonderful children, 7 and 13. Divorced, so I only see 'em 50% of the time. I'm totally focused on spending as much time with my kids as possible, but my daughter, who is 13, is at an age where I am terribly uncool. We have season tickets to the A's, and on days we are...Expand for more
n't at a game, are usually either at the ballpark working on baseball fundamentals, going thru baseball cards, or playing MLB 2006 on X-box. When I'm working, which is often, I'm running operations, flying aerobatics in the box, or flying back seat in a Russian L-39 at air shows, where I am a maintenance crew chief and back seat pilot. Look Up Firecat Jet for more if u like Russian Jets. I have alot of people to say hi to at Dulles, a couple of apologies to make, and a couple of apologies owed to me. Most people who met me now would say I'm entirely different, while some would say I haven't changed. I would say a little of both are true. But I would like to say thanks for alot of good memories at Dulles. ...acting a fool at the football games with the red brigade. (was this sugarland's first gang) :-) ...the Greyhound bus to the championship game. I can't remember who was playing I was so far gone. ...the prom with Mark Gallant singing Foreigner tunes. Kim Wesson who sang For Your Eyes Only. ...who was the real wild guy who snuck into the senior panoramic picture as a junior. Gawd was he cool. ...many many many good parties. A guy I knew got run over by a monster truck in front of Kim and Karla's. I took him to the hospital and he bled in my truck. He was from another school and I don't even remember how I met him. Enuf. I'm rambling.
