James's Story
After leaving Westside, I graduated from UNO and worked for Burger King Corporation for 7 years in Omaha and Kansas City. I married my wife, Janet, in 1982. I returned to UNO for an MBA in 1983 and was recruited back to Burger King in 1986 as Franchise Manager for Southeast Asia, living in Singapore. After four years and the birth of my oldest daughter, Krista, we moved to California for two years. nts. My second daughter, Bethany was born in NZ. I sold my share of BKNZ and we returned to Denver in 2001 for two years trying to start up a software marketing company. 9/11 ended that venture, so in 2003 we returned to New Zealand where I was CEO of a retail toy store chain. We have now returned to Omaha where I have a small business out of my home. It is both good to be back in Nebraska, but also a bit weird after living all over the globe.
