James's Story
Well, the day after graduation I started work at LRS in Wheatland for the summer(temporary job). The plans (and scholarship) I had set up for college didn't work out, so I started working for Mike Brillhart at Laramie Peak Forest Products sawmill full time to earn money for college. Later that year I was blessed with a large grant for education from my Grandmother's very elderly aunt. That opened the doors to Wyoming Technical Institute, which before was way beyond my financial ability. So in July 2000 I enrolled in the diesel program and graduated in December 2000.
On January 2, I packed up and moved to Kemmerer where I worked for 2 1/2 years at a truck shop and large wrecker/wreck recovery service, working on...Expand for more
semis and large/heavy equipment, as well as towing semis and recovering tractor/trailer wrecks and other "mishaps" (long story!!!).
Then on June 16, 2003, I accepted a job in Cody at Wyoming Diesel Power and R.A.M. Enterprises as a mechanic on Ford, Dodge, and GMC diesel pick-ups. Currently, I am Cummins factory-certified on all light duty and midrange engines and am shop foreman. I still turn wrenches and bust knuckles, but specialize in engine rebuilding.
I am still single and loving it. On september 15, 2007, I bought a house in Cody. It is a 4 bedroom house with a detached oversized single car garage. One bedroom was converted into a gun and reloading room by the previous owner, which is perfect for me!
