Re: Family. Pat and I have been married since 12/12/92. We are raising two children, James (III) born 8/28/94, and Katherine born 11/14/97. We enjoy our typically chaotic family life. Pat runs our Montessori pre-school. James plays football and enjoys computers. Katherine is into soccer and scouting. We are all very active in church and charities.
Re: Job. I am a member of the State Bar of Arizona. Having finished my clerkship with Justice McGregor on the Arizona Supreme Court, I am working for Perkins Coie in civil litigation and political law. I plan to remain active in helping immigrants to this country through pro bono work once I start at the firm. Some day, I would like for social justice to be the primary focus of my legal career.
Re: Church. We are members of a new church here in the Phoenix area, Chalice Christian Church (Disc. of Christ). It is a congregation dedicated to inclusiveness and social justice. Like Christ, we reach out to strangers through helping refugees resettle; we reach out to the poor through food drives and working at soup kitchens; we reach out to the outsiders by accepting gays and lesbians into the body of Christ. Most importantly, we give our members a place to ask questions and grow as Christians--which is to say, grow as people.
