James's Story
After graduation, I went to Air Force basic training in San Antonio, TX and then to Tech School in Biloxi, MS. I got home just in time to start classes at OU.
I met the love of my life in 1991. In May 1993, I graduated from OU with a Political Science degree. In October 1993, Tawnya and I got married.
In January 1995, I started working full-time for the Oklahoma Air National Guard.
In October 1998 (the day John Glenn went into space for the 2nd time), I was promoted to E-7, Master Sergeant.
In May 1999, Tawnya and I took our 1st European vacation to Italy. We traveled from Rome to Florence to Venice. Tawnya was on a vocal music tour with UCO.

, Tawnya graduated from UCO and got a job as a vocal music teacher in the Putnam City Schools. We bought our 1st house in Edmond, OK.
In March 2002, I went to the Academy of Military Science in Knoxville, TN and in April I was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant. Later that year, Tawnya and I took our 2nd European vacation. We went to Ireland, Isle of Man, Scotland, Wales, England and France.
In January 2007, our daughter, Isabella was born.
Currently, I am a Captain and work as a Human Resources Officer in the Joint Force Headquarter, Oklahoma Air National Guard. I am also the Officer-in-Charge of the Base Honor Guard at Will Rogers Air National Guard Base.
