Life
Professional:
I am the metro editor at the Evansville Courier & Press, where I supervise 12 local news reporters. For four years, I was also a member of the adjunct faculty at the University of Southern Indiana, where I taught both advanced reporting and feature writing. Before becoming an editor at the newspaper, I was an award-winning reporter for seven years, receiving honors from the Indiana Associated Press Managing Editors, the Hoosier State Press Association, the Society for Professional Journalists and the E.W. Personal
I am married to Lara Beck, who manages nursing homes. I met her while attending college at the University of Southern Indiana. She, too, is a communications major and we worked on the school newspaper together. WE've been married 14 years and have two children: Andrew, born in 1993, and Kaitlyn, born in 1995. We live near McCutchanville, Ind. Lara has extended family in Evansville, but grew up in the South: Georgia, Texas and New Orleans. AS a culture shock, she attended high school in Hazen, N.D.
