Life
As of March, 2005, I am still working as a career firefighter/EMT for Evesham Fire-Rescue. 3 years later, and I still love going to work every day. Granted, we're not a big city department fighting "the big one" every shift, but I can say that I have definitely expanded my horizons in my time here. I am currently assigned to the central station, where all of the Support Services work gets done. When we're not doing the routine stuff, like housekeeping, I have learned a lot about the maintenance of the fire trucks, ambulances, and other vehicles, so I learn something new every day. ave also continued to expand my knowledge in the Hazardous Materials field, and am scheduled to attend Specialist level courses as soon as they become available, including Weapons of Mass Destruction training with live agents.
Only 17 more years until I can retire!!!
Now that the weather is getting better,, I am going to be training for the American Cancer Society bike-a-thon, and probably the MS 150 this year. I have done the ACS twice before,a nd am looking forward to my third go at it.
