James's Story
Life
I have run for public office, skydived, started two businesses, and resigned from a decent paying job - all in the name of increasing personal motivation, self-confidence, and professional development. I recently started my own consulting firm, Bush Consulting Group (BCG), out of a desire to assist individuals and the organizations they lead in reaching their potential. BCG offers organizational consulting and personal & professional coaching. The BCG mission is to provide ethical solutions for business and professional development, with a focus on the success and prosperity of the client. I believe when business prospers ethically, then entire communities prosper as well. This newest venture of mine comes after 15 years of pastoral leadership, most recently serving a congregation Lawrence, Kansas.

I have completed doctoral studies on leadership, ethics, and theology. I am active in the Lawrence, KS Chamber of Commerce, serve as President-Elect of the Lawrence Central Rotary Club, I'm a member of the Executive Board of the Kansas Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptists and annually bowl for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Douglas County.
My wife Sandy and I have three wonderful children - James Jr., Langston, and Mary-Esther, and a 3-year old boxer named ÂBoomer. We live in Lawrence, KS, cheer on the KU Jayhawks, enjoy the arts/theatre, and all the extra-curricular activity of kids - from gymnastics to basketball. We continually seek to live with integrity, walk the talk, and be good neighbors. Most of all, we believe in living out loud - the more you're out there... the more you're out there.
