James's Story
I attended Sylvan Hills Elementary in Atlanta from kindergarten through fifth grade (1942-1948). Teachers were Emerson, Luntz, Russell, Cole, Jackson and Keith. Principal was Hollingsworth. Sixth grade was Adak, Alaska, in the Aleutian Islands (the farthest west American school). Seventh grade was Myra Winkler (name was changed to Travis just after I left) and Coldwell, both in El Paso. n JHS and Austin HS in El Paso (1950-53). Was at Narimasu HS in Tokyo, Japan, from 1953 until graduation in 1955. BS from Texas A&M in 1959, electrical engineering. You might say I had a 'broad' education.
Would have graduated from Sylvan Hills HS in Atlanta, but the Army had other plans for my Dad.
Been living in the Atlanta, GA, area since 1959, except for time in the Army. Retired from Lockheed Aircraft. Divorced, four children, six grandchildren, two cats, no debts. Life is good.
