James's Story
Life
I graduated in May of '64, and 6 weeks later I was in California. I was sad for leaving Snyder so soon. I really enjoyed my 7 years in Snyder, and was unable to maintain good contact for many years. I am happy for the Classmates website because it make my past relationships come alive again. I got my B.A. in speech and communications and my M.S. degree in counseling, and that might explain my joy in re-awakening old relationships and producing answers for myself and for those of you who may have questions of me. I hope that this website will cause some great things to happen. I have communicated with several people from Snyder H.S. over the past couple of years and hope to continue the excitement in the future.
College
I was a very serious student. I had to 'inch' through the first two years because money was hard to come by. I really missed being in Snyder much of the time because I was 16 years...Expand for more
old and in college, and my best friends were in Oklahoma in high school. I always had James Allen, Sammy Baldwin, Raymond Muse, Delores Atkinson (always loved and respected her greatly ... she had great character!), Luella Johnson, Betty/Esther/James/Ruth Tubbs (saved me more than once), Steve/Austin Reese ... great people (probably can't remember me:-), Ebb Montgomery, Alvin/Thad Smith (still friends today) ... I can't name them all right now. Great memories!!
Update to 19NOV13 ... I still check in to see if anything new is happening. I have been retired since age 57, and I am so blessed with a great life, a daughter who is a doctor and graduate of Yale Medical School. I am visiting here in North Carolina with her family ... two grand children who 'give me wings'. I may come to the 50th if it is still going on. I really enjoy seeing prople from my past ... most of whom probably can't remember me :-).
