James (Dan) Hitt:  

Life You would have known me as Danny or Dan Frank. The name Frank was my stepfathers name but not my legal name. I attended Sheridan elementary School 2nd through 5th grade, Cochran elementary in the 6th grade and Curtain JR. High. I did not graduate from WHS as I left Williamsport in 1960. Returning to my native Wyoming and living there for much of my life. I also lived in Northern California and Nevada Worked as a well driller,mechanic, heave equipment operator, Mine shift supervisor, operated service stations and Auto Body and Auto Glass Shop and worked in the Wyoming oil fields for a few years.My wife Jeanette of 38 years passed away in 2003 after a battle with Cancer. I am now retired living in eastern Oklahoma near Bokoshe on a small hobby farm with one dog and sometimes a couple of calves. And enjoying my nine grandchildren. My Parents divorced when I was seven (1949) My mother re married soon after. We moved to Williamsport, PA the home of the man she married. My father left Wyoming and re married in 1950. I have one full brother and four half brothers two are my mother’s second family and two my fathers second family. That makes me the oldest of six brothers. After high school I returned to Wyoming and worked for one of my mother’s brothers a couple years in a family well drilling business. My father was living in northern, NV. I had been to visit him a few times he talked me in to going to work for the same company he was employed by a small open pit mining co. I worked for them about five years and another mining co. for a couple years. I did work up to a shift supervisor. I also worked some road construction. I married in 1965 to a girl from Northern CA. who was my stepmothers nice. I was 22 at the time I had first met her when I was 17. We have two children Jodie Lynn born in Lovelock, NV in 1966 and James Edward born in Battle MT., NV. In 1968. In 1969 we moved to Willows CA. close to my wife’s girlhood home where I leased a Shell service station in 1975 we moved to Reno, NV. still leasing a Shell service station where business was good for a few years then we had a down turn. We sold the business in late 1981. We moved to Gillette, WY. In the spring of 1982 . Which I felt was a better place to raise our children than Reno, NV. I worked in the oil field for nine years and in 1992 I formed a partnership with my son we leased auto oil change and lube business for four years and then opened a Auto body and Auto glass shop until I retired in 2004.
