James's Story
Life
Life is considerably better now that I've met and married a wonderful woman. We have been married for a year, and she brings one son (15) to an already large family (I have four children, ages 18-24).
I earned tenure at Virginia Tech, and I have an active life in town, serving as chair of the YMCA at VT's Board of Directors and working as the director of a new center at VT (Center for Student Engagement and Community Partnerships). I also have a radio program on our college station where I play Americana (listen in on Friday mornings from 7-9 am on the Internet--look for WUVT-- or, if you're local, on 90.7 FM). ld friends. Time in the military or other obligations (usually revolving around work or kids) kept me away. Just moved my folks from Flower Valley to Sebastian, FL last year, so I no longer have a place to visit up there. The growth of the Rockville/Gaithersburg area has been so overwhelming; I'm glad to be in SW VA. Go Hokies! (even though we're not quite USC/UT, Austin material, I still support them).
