I received my PhD. in philosophy from Vanderbilt in 1974 upon completion of my dissertation which was entitled: "Anarchy and Anarchism: The Moral and Political Philosophy of George Santayana." I was tenured and promoted to Associate Professor in 1974 and served as Dept. Chair for eleven years. Teaching and research interests included: Philosophy of Religion; Ethics; Medical Ethics; History of Ancient Philosophy; History of Modern Philosophy; Political Philosophy; Philosophy of Human Nature; the Philosophy of George Santayana.

1963, and have one daughter, Stephanie Lynne, born in 1968. I had to take early disability retirement in 1994 and divorced in 1995 after several years of severe depressions.
I currently live alone in Summerville, SC with my 3 month-old kitten, a gray Calico I named "Calli." I date, enjoy ballroom dancing, Cajun cooking, camping, traveling, playing chess, photography; reading, writing, and surfing the net.
My fondest memories are the first several years I taught at The College of Charleston when the school was still small with excellent and well-motivated students. After retiring in 1994, I began to pursue things on my "To Do" list: I took up ballroom dancing; engaged in hiking and camping trips to The Smokies; resurrected my interest in photography by taking lots of pictures; began writing poetry again and undertook work on a quasi-autobiographical novel about my life growing up in a very rural area on a mini-farm several miles North of Baton Rouge., LA.
