James's Story
Life
I am now semi-retired after having taught in Hong Kong for 27 years. I met my partner, Alvin Lucero in 2003 and moved to Manila to be with him in July 2007. We got married in Toronto in July 2006 in a beautiful humanist ceremony. Alvin works as a pastry chef in one of the large Manila hotels and I do part-time French and supply teaching at The British School Manila. In April 2009 we moved into our own condo unit in an area of Manila called Rockwell. We live on the 45th floor or the North Tower in a block called Joya and from our flat we have an amazing view of Manila, the Central Business District of Makati, and some glorious sunsets over Manila Bay in the distance.
