James's Story
Life
I have been blessed to be a Director with one of the countries largest privately held commodities trading companies, my previous roll I worked as a National Category Manager and chaired an advisory panel with the worlds largest retailer. Prior to that I worked in the CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) field in Category Management for about 12 years time, since separating from the Army in which I spent approx 9+ years. I went back to school in Southern California which was the most rewarding portion of time spent having had put so much experience behind me.
We live in a beach commuinity in the South Bay of Southern California and spend alot of our free time on the ocean which is essentially our back yard.
I have 3 children Portia Ann Hartwick 17,Gunnar Karl Hartwick 6 and Tara Elise Hartwck 2 years old.
I am married to the most wonderful woman on the planet, Elsa Marie Hartwick MD who specializes in Nephrology and is in a private practice with 2 partners serving 8 hospitals, 3 Dialysis units, 1 being their own and also an interventional medicine clinic that we also partner in.
School
"High School"
what do you say about something as awkward as an experience as That. It was High School, the funny thing about High school is the lasting impressions of each other. I trust everyone is doing much better now than then.

ost rewarding experience for me. Having the experience of the Military behind my education proved invaluable, this point truly enriched my education and I hope the people around me were able to take some of the lessons and perspectives with them.
Workplace
For me work is not work in it's definition, work is an extension of myself and the people with whom I work with are my extended family.
Military
From a reflection standpoint, the Army was a very good move for me. I walked away with the perspective it takes to really get ahead. I know that alot of the people I shared that experience with at that time would strongly argue against that point, but hopefully they have had a chance to reflect and have a change of heart. Having spent time on the ground in Desert Shield/Storm definitely put many things into perspective and for that alone no amount of money or education could replace that experience, and in retrospect could you get me to go through that again. The Military redefined my personal boundaries for me to the point in which most civilians could not fathom. A depth and breath point which helped tremendously in college. I truly appreciate and thank everyone I shared those experiences with. For those of you whom I served with. I want to personally thank you all for the teachings of life and learning from you all and the lessons about myself.
Thank You Again
