James's Story
I was an Art and English Major. I was the student who designed MOST of the Oak Lawn flag. I clowned around in Biology...Ms Baumeister and then went on to major in Biology in college. Biggest challenge in H.S. was freshman football....I only weighed 95 lbs. (not today!) Loved band and all the friends there, yes, even RGP. I used to be the one who forged his signature on the study hall passes. Joined the AF right after graduation with John Hellberg to avoid being drafted. After my 4 years I was saddened to hear that my best friend through Simmons Grade school and classmate at OLCHS, Ed McHenry died in Vietnam. about where we all live today and what we are doing.
Beth, my wife of 45 years, and I own a Home Healthcare Agency since 1994. We both continue to work at our company and enjoy the many challenges and responsibilities that come with company ownership. We split our time between Kaneohe, Hawaii and Phoenix, Arizona. We raised 5 children, two boys of our own and a nephew and two nieces who are all fine adults today. The eldest is in Mesa, AZ with one grandchild. Two others are married. Toto & Tammy have a girl and a boy and Lynn & Damien have a boy and both live in Hawaii.
Beth & I are both Rotarians with the Rotary Club of Honolulu Sunset. We are active with our church, St Ann's as I am Cantor and Choir Director while Beth is a Eurchistic Minister. We love travelling and get away whenever possible.
