James's Story
Life
After graduation I went to NC Central University where I earned my B.S. in Criminal Justice. After college, I moved to Charlotte and went to work for the NC Dept of Correction. I stayed with the State for 2 years and then moved to Greenville, SC where I worked at the Greenville County Detention Center for a year. In 2000, I began working as a Deputy Sheriff with the Anderson County Sheriff's office in Anderson, SC. and was promoted to Detective after four years of service. I worked Auto theft with one other guy in the agency. Today, I am a Police Officer with the Columbia Police Department.
Currently, I am living in the metropolis of Columbia, South Carolina. I am married with two small sons and spend most of my time working. When I am not working, I like to go to sporting events and also watch sports on TV. ...Expand for more
I am a football fanatic and love the Atlanta Falcons!!! I also spend time playing with the kids, entertaining my wife, and playing games on my XBOX 360. When I am not doing any of the other things that I mentioned, I am probably finding new ways to spoil my two nieces who live about 2 hours away in Atlanta.
School
Looking back, I had a pretty good time in school. Although I was not what you might call one of the "in crowd", I had some great friends. If I had to do it all over again, though, I certainly would not! I enjoy being an adult and would not go back to those high school days even though I had some good times.
College was a blur. It went by all to quickly. Looking back, I certainly wish that I had done some things differently. I'm not harboring any regret, just wishing that I knew then what I know today.
