My Pets
Destiny and Duey are 2 female cats. Destiny is about 8 and Duey is now 15. They are proof positive that cats do like their owners, not just the food and water we provide. (I think)
My Kids (by a long ago ended marriage):
Elizabeth is 33 and has an M.S. in Slavic Studies. She previously dropped out of high school in 11th grade and attended school on 5 undergrad campuses before getting her B.S. degree in 51/2 academic years. To help expand my travel horizons, I visited every undergraduate and graduate campus including Moscow State University and Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland.
Rebecca is 26 & graduated Magna Cum Laude in May 2005 majoring in theatre and set design at Illinois State University. She interned at the Illinois Shakespeare festival then was a set construction fore(wo)man.
Helped build the set of August: Osage County which went to Broadway with the Chicago-born play.

My Job
Ended on 1/1/04 after 34 years!!! I worked for the National Weather Service as a professional weather guesser. I'm not missing it all and not having much trouble filling the time.
My Life Now
Just back (Nov 2004) from a month long trip to Nepal and a 3 week 150 mile trek the beautiful, diverse, Annapurna region which was a wonderful experience culturally, geologically and scenically. I previously trekked to Everest Base Camp (2001) and to the top of ...Expand for more
Mt. Kilimanjaro (1999). High on my list, but much lower in elevation, for a next visit is China. It's now scheduled for this November and December. (update 3/09-it was fantastic).
I'd love to get in touch with former classmates, especially any in the Chicago metro area, or the Twin Cities, where I visit several times a year. I usually do the MS TRAM bike ride each summer. Any other TRAMmers out there?

College
I attended the U of M from 1964-1968 but was not welcome back for the 1968-1969 academic year ("cannot register again without permission of the associate dean", it says on my transcript along with several incompletes for which the time has now lapsed I think, to complete the course). It was a tough year (1967-1968) UW Madison was willing to take me in and give me a B.S. the following year. 1969 was an exiting year on that campus for non-academic reasons. Not everyone got to smell tear gas in their college days, but I did. I also attended grad school there (at gov't expense since I was working for YOU) for a year in 1976-1977.
Workplace
I worked for the National Weather Service from March 1970 to January 1, 2004, when I retired!!! This took me to 10 different locations including both coasts and the Midwest.
