James's Story
After graduation in 1990, I headed off to Sault College to study Forestry. I finished my Forestry Technician diploma in 1993, having taken an extra semester off to work. I then chose to take the Integrated Resource Management Technology 1 year option, graduating in 1994.
I spent the first 2/3 of 1994 working for Forestry Canada in Sault Ste. Marie, before going back to upgrade course.
Over the next several years, I held a variety of short term jobs, until I hired on with Osmose Inc. of Buffalo, NY in 2000. In 2001, I took a layoff and ended up in Nova Scotia, where I remained for 2-1/2 years.

well as a seasonal position in 2002 and 2003 as a member of the provincial fire/forestry crew with the Department of Natural Resources.
In 2004, I hired on with the Davey Resource Group, part of the Davey Tree Expert Company, in Ohio. I've been with them in various job positions ever since.
Also in 2004, I met the lady from Kentucky who is now my other half.
This past July, I was promoted to acting Field Production Manager, in charge of a multi-year utility mapping project in central Kentucky. On August 25th, the promotion was made permanent. I currently have 2 technicians working for me on this project, with the prospect of 2 more trainees to come.
