We have two toy poodles who are sisters about 3 year old named Maggie and Gracie.
My Kids
The oldest, Rachael is a neonatal Social worker with one daughter age 12 and one son age 5, and the youngest, Jerusha is in computer networking and the mother of our grand child of 18 yr old Emma
Workplace
I have been an Episcopal Priest for 40+ years this year. I have seen many many changes take place in that time, some for the better, and some for the worst, depending of course on ones perspective. I retired about 5 years ago from the full time ministry. I have also done conflict management work when problems arise in churches between their clergy and the church board. I am also a stewardship consultant and meet with churches in organizing their every member canvass and fund raising needs. I have served churches in Newfoundland, Kentucky, Iowa, Michigan, Washington D.C. area, and Delaware.
Currently:
I am retired effective January 1, 2013 after 39 years in the ministry and being ordained 40 years.
Military
I tried desperately to get into College in 1965, but my lovely bad grades in high school precluded that at that time. I got my draft notice in Jan 66 to report in March, so I enlisted in Feb 66 for 3 years in administration. (Thinking they do not...Expand for more
shoot typist very often) I lucked out, out of the 10K troups at Ft. Campbell, KY. they sent the 1st third of the alphabet to Viet Nam, the second third to Korea, and the last third to Germany. Lucky my name was White. In Germany, I had an eye opener for the need of education in this world and began college with the European Extension of the Univ of MD. I completed that when I got out and went to Seminary and an MDIV and later a PhD and Doctor of Divinity degrees. I was also afforded the opportunity to see (non-Communist) Europe while I was in Germany. When I was promoted to E-5, I was transferred to Plans, Training and Intelligence Division and my security clearance precluded my visiting any communist area including Berlin. But I got to see most of the rest of Europe except Spain. You had to go through France to get to Spain, and the French during that time had ejected the Americans out of France, and the French were not very loving toward Americans. I probably would have stayed in the Army as a career had it not been for Viet Nam. I really did not want to get killed in that war, but I did enjoy the time that I spent in the Army and the sight I was able to see, and the people I was able to meet. I still stay in touch with a few of those I met in Germany almost 40 years ago.
