After leaving Roosevelt, I went into the army reserves and learned to cook, which enlarged on my second passion. I love to cook, I love to eat! Out of the army, I didn't know yet what I wanted to do when I grew up (still don't) so I just did whatever came along that I could do or learn quickly. I drove for Seattle Transit System in the early sixties, until an unfortunate accident with a pedestrian on a cold rainy January day ended that career. Then wandered about in life doing whatever was offered--worked in a glass warehouse, then started installing windows for a contractor. That got me started in home remodeling and building. In the meantime, I married and started a family, but that didn't last. I've two grown daughters and four grandkids grown and nearly so. After the marriage failed, I went to work at Boeing, in the 737 project. When that rolled out and went into service, work slacked off before the 747 started to get under way, and I went to driving heavy-haul trucks, moving materials and equipment for the I-5 project in south Seattle. Since then I've followed pretty much the same lifestyle, just wandering about trying to find myself(still haven't).
