James's Story

Life Among other things, I have been doing business on eBay, collect railroad timetables and related items, been doing historical research on various railroads and bus lines. I have also been a social member of the Fire Department for over 3 years now and perform various support roles as a member of the department. Not being a firefighter, I develop special projects , including an occasional publication that I believe the active duty guys and line officers can benefit from. I am redoing some small books I wrote and published myself in the 1970s and 1980s and am doing some newones on railroading and bus lines serving New York State, both past and present. I am something of a wisecracking jokester and have a lot of fun doing it. These are among the things I have been up to besides 5"3", ha ha ha. Just kidding. At least it keeps me out of mischief as does my involvement in the fight against domestic violence which has become an increasingly serious problem in this community. I urge all my classmates to take up this cause. One victim of violence is one too many. My motivation for involvement in the fight against domestic violence is more than just the OJ Simpson episode in 1994. It is both because I care so much and the fact that I grew up in an atmosphere that was easily conducive to domestic violence though that never actually happened, but was a frighteningly real possibility. ugh that kind of hell. No one deserves to be beaten to a pulp and I want to help put a stop to it. School I did not really have a favorite crush as such really, but there were several girls I was especially fond of, Marj M,Elaine V, Carol S, and Laurie S, being four of them. As for teachers who inspired me the most it would have to be a two way tie between Miss Recore and Mr. Bonaventura. Yes I would do it all over again, but I would make a few changes such as making with more jokes of all kinds, among other things. Two other commmunity groups that I am part of are the Perry Main Street Association, which is a volunteer group tasked with the redevelopment and revitalization of Perry,NY's downtown business district and making Main Street more pedestrian friendly than it ever was. In addition, I a m also affiliated with the Silver Lake TRail Council, a v olunteer group tasked with facilitating the development of the Silver Lake Trail of which 3/4 mile is located on an abandoned railroad bed, revitalize the underused public beach and enhance our area's bountiful recreational opportunities. It is planned to have the Silver Lake TRail connect with the Genesee V alley Greenway, also on an abandoned railroad bed, which runs from Rochester to Hinsdale,NY, near Olean, this, my desktop publishing, and trying to renew old friendships is keeping my plate full and that is the way it should be. I will have another updatate sooner or later.
