James's Story
Life
Life has been a blast - and I have been very blessed. I have a wonderful wife (Lorra) whose only real drawback is that she is a native Californian (only those who know native Californians will understand...), and two very active and intelligent boys (James & Daniel). After Italy (Forrest Sherman HS, Napoli) we moved to Georgia (Robins AFB, Warner Robins), and after high school I moved to the West Coast. Between 1980 and 1997 I lived in California (San Diego for a short while, but most of the time in the San Francisco Bay Area). I then moved in 1997 to a little slice of heaven - 27 acres in Washington almost half way between Portland and Seattle. After many years we moved back to California in 2005 and now live in the Santa Cruz Mountains south of San Jose; we miss Washington but since we used to live in California before Washington, and the wife and kids are Californians, I guess it has been a bit of a homecoming... We'll go back, one day.

neering... Santa Clara University for my MBA. Wanted to go back and get a law degree - my wife told me I could do anything I wanted to, when I was single again... It was a tough call, but I chose to skip the law degree...! Oh, and did I mention that while I went to Stanford, my wife went to Berkeley? I mean, that is like, like Stanford vs Berkeley!!
Workplace
High tech my whole life... If you have used a computer (except for the older Apple machines) you almost certainly have used one of the microprocessors I helped to create for almost 14 years while I was at Intel. I worked for a start-up during the glorious bubble years, and now I am Executive Vice President for Cadence Design Systems (we make software for chip and system designers - geeks making software for other geeks I suppose :-)). Nowadays, if you are on an international flight, there is a chance I am on it with you since that is where it seems I spend all my time... Trust me, it gets old (but for a little while I must admit it was exciting!).
