James's Story
Well after High School I started working for GM in tool and die. I also joined the Michigan National Guard in 1965 and also became a reserve Police Officer in Redford Twp. In 1973 I left GM and Redford PD and became a Detroit Police Officer. In 1974 I left Detroit and became a Police Officer for the City of Sylvan Lake in Oakland County. During this time I had been living in Redford with my wife and three girls. In 1975 I moved to Sylvan Lake and became a Marine Dep with the Oakland County Sheriff Dept. I also became a member of the Tri-City Fire Dept. in Sylvan Lake. I was still working full time with SLPD. In 1980 we moved to Warren due to the schools in Pontiac. I met my present wife Irene. In 1985 I was promoted to Sgt/Patrol Supervisor with SLPD. Irene and I moved to Waterford Twp where we lived till 2000 when I retired from the police dept. We sold our house in the summer of 2000 bought a motor home and moved to Florida where we bought property in a community about 10 miles west of Disney World where we still live. In 2001 I started work for Disney in Park Events Operations in Epcot. I loved working or Disney but in 2010 I decided it was time to retire again.
Since I retired Irene and I have traveled the world and. Have spent lots of time visiting Michigan where our four girls and six grandchildren live.
I have had a great life since High School and am looking foreword to many more great years.
