James's Story
Military
I joined the United States Coast Guard in February of 1982. After boot camp I was stationed in Northern New Jersey, where I participated in numerous search and rescue operations, drug interdiction and marine safety operations.
After four years I was transfered to Hickman, Ky and was assisgned to an aids to navigation vessel on the Mississippi River. This assignment lasted three years.
I was then transferred to Marine Safety Office Philadelphia where I was assigned to the supply officer for three years and Coast Guard Auxiliiary lias...Expand for more

I was then transferred to New Orleans, La, where I was assigned to the personnel support branch for two years and then assigned to the budget and accounting office for another two years.
Finally being transferred to Alameda, Ca where I was a computer systems administrator until reyring in 2003. I am now the Director of Security for a Hilton Hotel in Oakland, Ca.
Although I did not like every place I was sent I met each challenge and grew. I enjoyed my military career and I am proud of my accomplishments.
