James's Story
I added a few more photos today to include Singapore, Thailand and Diego Garcia to name a few places. I will try to dig up my Australia photos sometime in the near future.
So far it has been quite a busy year. I bought another boat, just in time it seems for the incredible increase in fuel. The Livingston 14' carries 12 gallons in two tanks but ban fish all day. Still some tweaking to do on it, as in add a couple of seats and a rear dive platform to name a few. However, the real time eater has been the garden....again. This will be the first year that I MAY actually be prepared to plant in early November. I added a couple of pictures of some of the flora. I finally started up my brand new (2 years ago!) Bearcat Chipper/Shredder to help in the composting process. Impressive. Will surely have the safety gear on while operating it. The big improvement, ironically, is the semi-destruction of the neighbor's abondoned 'jungle' lot. Without a decent amount of air and light my garden struggles, wilts and faces an increased amount of 'bad' bugs harassing it, so, this year I attacked it early, with vigor, and now have decent air flow and light to the garden. The results are evident. Growth is UP, unlike the US Economy.
Work is work. As a contractor working for NASA we are up for bid this month. Fortunately I've been in this situation before and do not have the desire or patience to second and third guess...Expand for more
who and what and so forth. Kay? Sa-ra...
My son's wife is expecting her second, a boy, in December and that brings the grand total to four grandchildren if all goes well. Both my children are doing well and we chat a few times a month. I hope to get the garden operational, complete with wind and solar energy, as well as water tanks to assist in watering. Grandchildren, it seems, change everything. I would really like to host them here if just to show them a garden, one that produces fruits and vegetables, if only to show them it can be done. It seems so many people are content with the grocery store and a green lawn....maybe.
Still way single and oddly at peace. Wow, did I make some poor choices pre-50. No finger pointing or bad mouthing, just plain old incompatibility. Fortunately I met a young person in Greenland who set me straight: No, I am not James T Kirk out to save the universe, and, yes, a leopard does not change it's spots.
We are beginning the rainy season here, another good reason to get the yard trimmed. The wind, generally slows unless a typhoon gets to close, then, strangely, it accelerates much more than you'd like! Another reason for the wind and solar. The good bet power outages if a big one hits. Just have to make the wind and solar removable. That little item is number 5 on the backburner list.
Well, nice chatting with you. Hope all is well and happiness is with you.
Ciao
