Dr. James's Story

Life Upon graduating from Garner Senior High School in 1988, I entered the University of North Carolina--Chapel Hill. I received my BA degree in Radio, TV,& Motion Picture (now Communications)in 1992. I received my M.A. degree in Theatre Arts from California State University, Los Angeles in 1995. When I was living in Los Angeles, I had the chance to do lots of theatre. I made brief appearances on ER, Beverly Hills 90210, Ellen, Seinfeld, Friends, Chicago Hope, Models Inc., the Brady Bunch Movie II, the Nutty Professor, to name a few. Refusing to be a struggling actor and desperately needing some stability, I pursued my PhD at Florida State University in Dramaturgy and Theatre; I received a full fellowship and graduated from FSU August 2000. n Providence, Rhode Island. I am more into directing theatrical productions now. I love my job and teaching, and I truly believe it is my calling. I married Deepa Luxme Sritharan on February 14, 2004 in the US Virgin Islands. I am a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. School My biggest crushes were definitely Sheila Mitchell and Teresa Spelling. The teachers that inspired me the most were Mrs. Valsame (English), Mrs. Greene (English), and Mrs. Loots (Drama). The funniest or craziest moment for me was performing some of Michael Jackson's greatest hits at the Senior "sleep-over" in the gym. If I had to do "high school" all over again, I would definitely be more active in sports than books--although I would hope to be be a very intelligent athlete. Yet, I am satisfied with the road God has chosen for me.
