James's Story
Ginny Rowland(class 69) got married in 1969 after I flunked out of college and joined the Air Force to avoid the rice paddies in Vietnam. Served 3 1/2 years than went back to College in California. Ginny and I had our first child Carol after the the Air Force while in College. I graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1975 with honors surprisingly with Major in Accounting and Finance. Got first Job in Albuquerque New Mexico where we had our second daughter Laura. Ginny and I were a perfect fit and could not have been happier throughout our life. field. I became the Univerity of New Mexico Hospital by 1980. We loved New Mexico but got recruited to Oregon Health Sciences University Hospital as CFO in 1984. Ginny went back to School in Portland and also got a Accounting degree. I rose up the ranks at Oregon Health Sciences and we retired in 2005. We figured we had enough resources to retire early and we wanted to continue enjoying life. We are very close to our two daughters who are happily married and we have four grandchildren. We now live in golf community on St Simons Island. We each enjoy golf and traveling. Still enjoying life!
