Jamie's Story
Life
Since graduating high school in 1983. I have done a number of things, I went to LCC for a short time, worked in retail to help pay for that, met and married Tim Hixson, a 1983 graduate of Bath highschool in 1985, in 1987 he graduated from M.S.U. with a teaching degree and we moved south to Georgia where we have lived every since. We had our first child in 1995, and have since been foster parents to several kids, we adopted another son in 2005 and have a teenage daughter who we are leagal gaurdians of. I have beeen a law enforcement officer since 1990 and consider myself to be truely blessed.
School
I attended Lansing schools all my life, Starting out in Kindergarten at Allen street school, then on to Forest Rd, Forest view, Walter French Jr, High and Everett high school,
My craziest times were at Walter French were I thought being a class clown was the greatest thing, I had fun, but I don't think the teachers thought I was too funny. College
I attended LCC first trying my hand at pre-vet school, then Physical therapy, I never earned enough credits to graduate or move on to a 4 year college instead I married an MSU student, lived in Spartan Village, and Moved to Georgia when he graduated.
I have since attended the Georgia dept of Corrections academy, the Fulton county Public safety police academy
Workplace
I worked my way through college at Kroger in Frandor, I moved from there to Meijers at Lake lansing, after Moving to Gerogia with My Husband I worked in a sporting goods store called Robbies sports, when Foot locker bought them out I worked for Champs sports, got on with Fulton County corrections, I was a CO for a year and half, then I was hired by the Fairburn police Dept. I worked ther 9 years as a training officer, I left to work closer to home and was hired by Newnan Police Dept. were I was a Bike patrol officer. I left that postion and went to the local Sheriff's office to teach a DARE type program and I have been doing so since 2002, I love being in the classroom, I couldn't ask for a better job
