Jamie's Story
Life
Well, things have been exciting over the last ten years or so. After graduating high school I left for Marine Corps Boot Camp in San Diego. After graduating I spent a month in Camp Pendleton at MCT in E Company then I received orders to Dam Neck for intel training. Upon completion of this training I was "rewarded" with orders 1st Battalion, 3rd Mar in Hawaii. I spent 3 1/2 years as a "Lava Dog" travelling all over the Western Pacific. It was a tough assignment, but I did alot of fun things and met alot of great people. After 1/3 I received orders to JTF Six in Fort Bliss, TX (El Paso). During this time I supported law enforcement agencies in the country's war on drugs. D.C. to name a few. In Nov of 99 I was honorably discharged from the USMC. I got out as a Segreant (E-5). After the USMC I began attending UT at El Paso. I graduated with a B.A. in English and American Literature with a minor in Philosophy. I was content to become some high school teacher somewhere until the events of 9/11. Seeing the events live on my TV along with having lived and worked in the WTC area with members of the NYPD, I have decided to change my career plans. After I graudated I attended OCS in Florida and was commissioned an Ensign in the USN. Right now I am stationed on the USS Shreveport LPD-12 as a Surface Warfare Officer. We just recently returned from a 7 1/2 month deployment to Arabian Gulf. I hope all of my friends from all the over the world are doing well and please do contact me.
