Since Handsworth graduation 1976:
Worked for a year while taking music lessons at Vancouver Academy of Music -- then UBC, graduated 1982 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music -- 1983 got married (mistake) and divorced in 1988 -- did a lot of travelling: 20 countries in Europe and Asia and lived two years in Halifax, NS and two years in Fredericton, NB -- completed a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science at Dalhousie University in 1991 -- returned to Vancouver in late 1993 and stayed for four years but couldn't get settled in the "new" Vancouver -- moved to Scotland in late 1997 and completed at Master’s Degree in Music at the University of Edinburgh in1998 and decided to stay (had dual Canada/UK citizenship through my f...Expand for more
ather) -- met my wife Moira in 1999, married 2000, and became a first-time father in 2004 at the age of 46, and now a grandfather at the beginning of 2024. I worked in the library and information management field for over 40 years with over 22 years as a Curator in the Rare Books and Music Division at the National Library of Scotland. Retired at the end of August 2024. I don’t get back to Vancouver often but had a quick visit in November 2023 and saw some friends from the "old neighbourhood". I will be returning to Vancouver for a week in Sept '26 for a 50th high school reunion. Where did the time go? Enjoying spending more time with family, music making (still playing flute after 50 years), and travels to the European continent.
