Jamie (Jim)'s Story
Life
After I graduated from WWSC, I taught for two years in Alaska, on an island 100 miles west of Juneau. I went to Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI, after that, and trained as a Surface Warfare Officer (a Destroyerman). I had an interesting career, including a stint as Officer-...Expand for more
in-Charge of a Special Warfare Detachment in Bahrain, just before the Persian Gulf War. I also served as a UN Observer in Cambodia, helping to bring peace to that country. I retired in late 1996, and have been teaching High School to incarcerated kids at a camp just outside of Redding, CA.
