Jamie's Story

Life I've been in Kentucky since late '99. Five of those years I lived in Louisville, but now I live in Chaplin. Very small town about the size of Gaines, except there is no bar :-). I've recently gotten remarried. I am going to hang on to my maiden name this time though. I lost it once and I'm not losing it again. Hubby doesn't mind, and maybe perhaps he'll change his instead. Stranger things have happened. I have two kids that are now grown. My son graduated high school this past June and my daughter, much to our dismay, has decided to quit school and become a grown up earlier than we would like. We can only hope that she will be happy with no regrets. I've got a great dog named Quark. He's a pug and looks just like Frank from Men in Black. I almost named him that, but decided to go with a Trek name instead. I went to my first class reunion last August of '07. I had such a great time and I'm looking forward to our quarter century reunion in '12. School Of all the years of high school, my junior year is the one that sticks out the most. Likely because I had so much fun, but got into so much trouble. With the good comes the bad. I really miss Mr. Gousman and Mr. Angell. They two were the best teachers hands down. Of course, they were the two teachers that not only ta...Expand for more
ught us in middle school, but carried on into high school as well. Perhaps that is where their influence weighed so much, or perhaps they were just too cool for words. My worst nightmare was thinking I was rid of Mr. Mitchell after Jr. High only to have him as our principal our Freshman year. Fortunately he didn't bring the "woodshed" with him. If I could do it all over again, I would likely worry less about boys and more about my school work. Get good grades and go to a good university instead of slowly working my way towards my degree while I'm still in my 30s. I am glad to have gone to Byron though. The small school size allowed us to know everyone we graduated with. It was a pretty wholesome atmosphere considering. I enjoyed it, sometimes miss it, and love to drive through there once in a great while to reminisce. College College? Hah! I actually started working towards my degree for the first time when I was 29! I still haven't gotten it. Kids, moving to Kentucky and bills sort of got in the way. I work for a great company that will cover my education as long as it is within the realm of the company's needs. Everybody needs systems analyst so that is what I'm going for; computers. I don't know how long it will take, but even if it takes until I'm 50, at least I did it.
