Jamil's Story
Military
After graduating in 2004 I went off to Bootcamp for the Army in South Carolina. I left July 5th 2004. I graduated on September 17 2004, then I went to AIT (Technical School) in Georgia, came home for Christmas and graduated Febuary 9th 2005. My first child was born on the 28th of February, I went home for a week to meet him. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life, a little me! I went back to Georgia and I left there in March on the 17th for Airborne School (Paratrooper School), I graduated on the 15th of April and went home on leave until the 28th, I was married to Alexis Williamson on the 25th of April 2005. I arrive at my first appointed duty station on the night...Expand for more
of the 28th. My unit was 3rd/509th Para Infantry Regiment. Alot happened while I was with that unit. I was the computer administrator for the battallion, I went down to Louisianna for JRTC in August of 2006 to prepare for war in Iraq. I came home the 27th of August and deployed September 26th 2006 for 15 months, the deployment was great but had many hard times and emotional times. I came home finally in November of 2007, remained in Alaska for a few more months, then July 10th caught that bird back down to my home of North Carolina, my new assignment was to start at the end of that month with 3rd Group SF, many things have happened since then, fill you in when I speak to you in person.
