Jane's Story
After graduation, I attended Western Md. College for one year. I then worked for Balto.Gas & Elec. for two years before entering nursing school. That lasted two years when I decided that marrying Bob Welsh was more attractive than finishing nursing. We moved to Easton, Md. two years later and I was accepted as a senior in their nursing program, graduating in '58. Bob decided that Easton was not for him, so back to Balto. I worked Labor & Delivery in many hospitals between having seven wonderful children. Then in '63, Bob opened his own drugstore in Ocean City, Md. ing in "77. Then I attended U of M Balto. Grad school of Social Work, graduating in '80 with a Masters in Clinical Social Work. I immediately opened my own office in O.C., Md, for 18 years. Working in my office and other jobs as a counselor until I retired in '04 and moved to Florida where I am living today. Bob returned in'12 after a divorce, and we had a ceremony in the Catholic Church. The church ruled that we were still married because we did not have our marriage annulled. When I moved to Fl., I decided to work again, but had to take State Boards here. I passed and worked on and off until my license needed renewing in '18. Retired for good! Now, at 86 years old next month, I can say that it has been GREAT! Now to connect again.
