Jane's Story
Life
Currently the Executive Director of the California Council of Geoscience Organizations, as well as doing other online admin work. Have two daughters, Julie Olmsted Cross (BS Reed 1984, PhD Phys, UW 1997) & Janet Olmsted Cross (BA Arch UCBerkeley 1987). Was in art supply biz 10 years, then earned BA Geology SFSU 1989. R. G. in CA, NC. Married to Richard Shaler (UCB-Arch)in 1997, and moved to NC in 2000.

e been working as a geologist ever since then. I have a whole new crew of best friends from those days, even though they are 30 years younger than me!
Workplace
After several low end jobs taken to support myself and two small children, I went into the screen printing and art supply business in 1972. I sold the business in 1981 and went back to college, graduating with a degree in geology in 1989. Worked as an environmental geologist in CA for 9 years, then moved to NC and started my own on-line business.
