Giavanna Maria's Story
Giavanna Maria's schools include Foreman High School, St. John Bosco School, Taft High School. Giavanna Maria later attended University of Illinois Medical Center at Chicago (Occupational Therapy) , University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She received a specialty certification in Pediatric Neurology from the University of Southern California. Giavanna worked as an OTR in Chicago,and Duluth(MN).
Alongside her medical background Giavanna also went to art school, joined art exhibitions, attended dress design school and designed clothing, studied and performed several forms of dance, became a ballroom dance instructor, and studied ballet under Betsy Hershkind of the Royal Ballet of England, Joni Larcher of Mendincino Ballet, and Cathy Gasper of the opera ballet, and several other gifted ballerinas.
Giavanna married Leonard Sliwoski in 1973, he became a business consultant, expert witness, and college professor in MN. They had five children together, three boys and two girls. The oldest child is now an attorney and award-winning author,the second child is an artist and writer, the third child is a dentist and young mother, the fourth child is a MD/Anesthetist, the fifth child is a Speech/Language Pathologist and Therapist. During those years we also took in troubled teens as foster children, and Giavanna eventually adopted two more from Uzbekistan.

, soloist (ballet) and choreographer, been a consultant and continuing education lecturer, and helped her husband build a national and then international business. She is an avid reader, a self taught pianist, still loves medicine esp. neurology, and for several years ran an International Hospitality House out of her home for local university students who were internationals. Giavanna is also a pharmaceutical nutritionals distributor with USANA,, a (Chicago) Miss Columbus Day beauty queen finalist, O.T. department head, O.T. Consultant, and Continuing Education Lecturer. These days she is choreographer for F/M Opera, and a nona (grandmother) of two grandchildren whom she adores. Giavanna is very involved in missionary work in North India as an International Liaison.
Giavanna thinks the best decision she ever made was to accept Jesus Christ as her personal savior, choosing to live a life pleasing to Him and in service to others. She sees medicine, the arts, and developing personal relationships with others as a simple but profound vehicle for ministering the life-changing love of Christ.
Giavanna Maria's interests include Architecture, Art, Design, Piano, Opera, International Film Studies, Medicine, Dance, Teaching, Classical music, ballet, Bible study, learning about other cultures, Pediatrics, International Cooking, Design, Figurative Art, and teaching.
