Jane's Story
Life
I was married in 1978 (my husband Jim died in January 2013) with two boys, born in 1981 and 1986. I have an A.A.S., B.S. and M.S.Ed in the fields of social work and education. After working at College of DuPage as a teen guidance counselor for a government-funded program, I took time off to raise a family and got involved in PTA, music boosters, and chaired our school district's child neighborhood safety program. In 2004, my 12-year search for my biological mother was over, after my sister found a posting of mine on the Internet and she contacted me. I never thought it would happen. My parents have been deceased for some time, so it was a rebirth of sorts to have been an only child and then have four brothers and two sisters in my life! All but one live in Wisconsin, (two brothers are now deceased) and a brother lives in California. My birth mom (in Wisconsin) and I get along wonderfully.
